Ironing Board

 Just down the street, foundations have been dug for three houses. Trucks have delivered lumber and a rocky temporary driveway has been laid out. Everything was ready for the next step. Alone, on the deserted site, an ironing board stood  waiting. Waiting for what? How does one use an ironing board on a construction site? It seemed like the wrong tool for all the tasks to come. But there it stood, muslin cover spotless, white painted legs pristine. Waiting for whatever comes next.
